With the latest technology to test Face Masking

With increase of online fraud and identity theft, it is necessary to ensure that your services are not in danger. Following the KYC (Know Your Customer) guidelines, liveness detection is necessary for unsupervised authentication situations.

NeoCheck LD® substantially increases the security level of an online transaction. With the most powerful biometric anti-spoof algorithms in the world, it easily exposes a catfish or swindler.

NeoCheck LD® distinguishes both an image (with imitated movement) and the movement of a real person. This detection can be carried out without sending a video stream, which makes it flexible and easy to integrate.

How it works?

  • We capture multiple images of faces and check changes and natural movements. A 3D face moves differently than a 2D photo and our sophisticated algorithms can detect this difference.

  • We detect video repetitions and other copies with a special algorithm based on textures that differentiates a recaptured version from a real person.

  • We guide the user to turn their head in a certain way and verify that the head has been turned in the specified direction (challenge-response).

We want our liveness detection service to generate the same trust as a face-to-face interaction. We have developed a mechanism that ensures that the recordings sent are taken by a real person in front of the camera. It is based on the analysis of optical flow and detects movement between two or more images. Our system can distinguish between a 3D face and a 2D photo that move differently.

Texture detection:

The image processing algorithms analyze the texture to differentiate the skin and the printing paper. Neocheck® has modified this approach to detect the texture of a captured image or video for reliable protection. Even remote-controlled 3D avatars can not gain access.

To avoid a video attack, Neocheck® also offers a challenge-response technique. The system challenges the user with some random instructions and then the response is verified to validate if the instructions were followed. Some of these challenges may be turning the head, covering the eye, sticking out the tongue, etc. This way, it is possible to verify if the user turned his head according to the direction of the random challenge. These challenges can be repeated as many times as your security level requires.

Finally, the use of Neocheck ® multimodal biometrics generates even higher levels of security and combats repetition attacks. More than one biometric feature is captured simultaneously. It offers face, eyes and voice recognition that can be combined, depending on the situation and the desired level of security. Making it more difficult for an attacker to successfully fake multiple biometrics, especially when they must be presented at the same time. In addition, it is more convenient for the user to choose between different biometric features when they make the verification.

Measures used

For biometric authentication, other anti-spoofing techniques:

The eye blink detection method, measuring intrinsic facial movement. After all, a photo can not blink. However, a video of the person blinking would also work. These systems are inconvenient for users, they take a long time in lifeness detection. A similar technique seeks dilatation of the pupil, causing the screen to darken and then suddenly flash. This can detect fakes successfully.

More sophisticated techniques use 3D cameras. But, both require special equipment and, therefore, are not compatible with most websites and mobile cameras available today.
